Malaysian Retailer Flaunts Sandy Bridge Chips Ahead of Official Launch
Everyone expects Intel’s 32nm Sandy Bridge chips with on-die graphics to shed their “upcoming” tag at the Consumer Electronics Show in January, when the chip maker is officially supposed to launch the new CPU range. But that didn’t stop Malaysian computer retailer Compuzone from flaunting pictures of some members of the Sandy Bridge family on its Facebook page, claiming that it already has them in stock. While the photographs have since been taken down, the Sandy Bridge chips along with Socket 1155 motherboards might already be on sale there.

So what these chip's have a kill switch. I googled it and that sounds like a great idea. Although not fool proof cause it seems all you have to do is load another chip into the motherboard and then u can access the data. Then again no security system is fool proof. if you don't like the kill switch idea just don't activate it. The switch itself is more aligned with modle users then home pc users. maybe you misunderstand the idea there.

Seriously Maximum PC? You couldn't tell from the color of the box, Intel's extreme control over such scenarios, and the last fiasco with fake Core i7's coming from NewEgg?
This is a scam, plain and simple. Don't report bullshit please, this is why i unsubscribed after 2 years.

Color of the box? Besides the color saturation and contrast on the picture being way over blown the box looks fine. And Intels "extreme control" didn't stop places over seas from putting the 1156 chips on sale. I highly doubt this is bullshit. News worthy... maybe not. Its just some company trying to make headlines by flashing their new product before they are allowed to release it. If these chips are due out in January in full force, it isn't a stretch to believe they have already been shipping to retailers, especially ones that need to clear customs.

I want Sandy Bridge! I'm itching for an upgrade, ever since my current system seems unable to boot windows properly with a graphics card, even after RMAing the graphics card and reinstalling windows. worst part: messed up with no graphics drivers.
