Maingear Locks and Loads Gaming PCs with AMD Radeon HD 7970 Graphics Cards
For those of you who prefer not to roll your own gaming machines and would rather have a boutique system builder do it for your, Maingear, based out of New Jersey, announced it has begun equipping its Shift and F131 rigs with AMD's new Radeon HD 7950 and 7970 graphics cards (check out our performance preview of the 7970 here), and will soon be offering them in its Vybe series.
"'No Compromise’ and 'unmatched performance' are understatements when it comes to what we are seeing in the Maingear Labs," said Wallace Santos, CEO and Founder of Maingear. "With AMD’s Radeon HD 7970 graphics card, gamers looking for a true over the top gaming experience will find what they are looking for."
Maingear's Shift series is available in three different foundations, including Intel X79 and Z68 platforms, and AMD 990FX. Each one is fairly customizable from the color of the case (both inside and outside) to a plethora of storage options, and the same holds true for the more affordable F131 series.
As for the Radeon HD 7970, it's the world's first 28nm GPU. It has 4.3 billion transistors and is the fastest single-GPU graphics card available to date.

I like the design of the case with the cards pointing up, but I spill enough mountain dew as it is- sounds dangerous :)

It is a highly modified SilverStone Raven RV01. MainGear added their own design onto it and you can not find the case anywhere but MainGear's website. They build PCs for you, which to me... Sucks! Building a PC is the best part of owning one. Anyhow, if you want it, expect to pay two grand for it.
