Low Cost Raptor LK1 Gaming Keyboard Hits The US
It’s right around the first of the month. You know what that means: rent is due. But let’s say that you spilled Mountain Dew Code Red all over your keyboard in a frenzied Battlefield 3 match last night – and now it doesn’t work. Top-tier gaming keyboards aren’t cheap. How are you supposed to satisfy your desire for virtual blood and keep the lights on in your apartment? CompuExpert has your back. Yesterday, the company began offering the budget Raptor LK1 gaming keyboard on US shores for the low, low price of $35.
You might not expect much out of a $35 keyboard, but a European version of the peripheral has been out for a while now and European review site HardwareHeaven.com says the LK1 is “a good solid budget keyboard with some nice additional features.” What kind of features, you ask? Well, to start, the Raptor LK1 includes anti-slip pads and it’s water-resistant (so as to avoid the aforementioned Mountain Dew mishap). All the keys are fully exchangeable and uses “Fast-Mover-Technology” to lock removed keys and avoid accidental button presses. Additionally, the W, A, S, D and arrow keys are colored red to stand out against the rest of the black keys – a thoughtful touch. The keyboard ships with backups of those keys, as well, though they are in black.
If you’re in the market for a low-cost gaming keyboard, you can pick the Raptor LK1 up at major online retailers like Newegg and Amazon.

Not at all.... I wonder why don't they make a keyboard with the ESDF highlighted instead.

Nope, I do it too. I like to be able to feel the nub on the 'F'

After doing a return on the TT Meka G1 keyboard (felt great to use but needed better media keys and I like backlighting) I went back to my Sidewinder X6 which has nubs on the 'W' key as well as the standard raised bar along the 'F' and 'J' keys. The 'W A S D' keys also come with 4 red dots on the bottom of each key for visual distinction.
Now if they only made something like the X4 with better draining for spills and maybe put in some mechanical red switches it would be great.
