If you’re in the market for a completely silent PC that also happens to be tiny, this is your lucky day. The Stealth LPC-395F, or “Little PC”, is a small fanless Atom-based nettop system with a front facing 2.5-inch hard drive bay.

The entire chassis measures 6.54 x 6.18 x 1.89 inches. The system comes with the Atom N270 at 1.6Ghz, up to 2GB of RAM, dual Ethernet, a Compact Flash slot, and optional WiFi (for $50). The Little PC is able to run on 12-19V DC so it can even be used in a car. The Stealth LPC-395F is available to order now for $795. Supply your own hard drive.

avatarGreat for sailboat!

I'm planning on retiring on a bluewater sailboat someday.  but, what always occupied my mind was what computer should I use.  Even laptops need 120v to recharge.  That PC might just do the trick, rechargin off teh batteries which are themselves recharged off a wind vane or solar panel...

avatarWhat Cave Did The Pricing Team Crawl Out Of

Haven't these guys seen the netop Ion platform that Asus has had out for months now? They're not over $500. The 1201N will have a dual core Atom 330 chip and be able to decode 1080p video and display via HDMI. AND it comes with a hard drive already. For $500!! Who the hell got the price wrong on this crap-box? It's even more expensive than a Shuttle X2700 complete system. For that price I'd expect a sweet looking custom HeatSync enclosure from A-Tech Fabrication. Some one didn't check the competition before they started development of this expensive little thing. You can't expect it to sell for such a premium price without an apple logo on it ;)

avatarI have to agree the price is

I have to agree the price is a little outrageous..but gotta admit that case is pretty cool

avatarNot really all that cool...

Check out the host of alternatives that are less expensive.

Shuttle X2700: http://us.shuttle.com/X2700.aspx

Acer AspireRevo: http://aceraspirerevo.com/

Asus Eee Box: http://event.asus.com/eeepc/microsites/eeebox/en/index.html

Or if you want a really cool case check out HeatSync cases from A-tech Fabrication:

http://www.atechfabrication.com/products/HeatSync_300_Micro-Client.htm

There's a bit of something for everyone if they just want a tiny case. From shiny plastic to milled aluminim. Or you could buy a nano/micro PC case and build one of these, for half the price.

avatarI'm not really a fan of

I'm not really a fan of small PCs (full-tower Gigabyte Aurora 570 desktop case and 24-in WS HP A7217A CRT here)... but that Stealth LPC-395F is rather cute.(Eek...did I just say "cute" in relation to a PC...HELP!!!)

avatarOK, the price is just

OK, the price is just stupid. It's more than twice the cost of a cheap netbook, but without the keyboard and LCD panel. WTF is the point?

avatarFor that kind of money

For that kind of money You should get a HDD,OS and DVD/CD.

avatarNeato

A Mac Mini might be a better deal financially, but this Stealth is still a pretty awesome little machine.   Totally silent and barely using any power to speak of, in a tiny form factor which can be mounted nearly anywhere with those brackets you see in the picture -- tons of cool applications for that.
