Lian Li's New HTPC Case is a Little Square

Lian Li today launched a pair of pint sized cases, one of which is intended for your home theater. That's important to note, because at a glance, you might mistake the new HTPC PC-V353 as a NAS box. For whatever reason. Lian Li went with a square design instead of the more traditional rectangle shape, a fitting shape for Spongebob but one that isn't likely to fit into your HTPC rack.

The PC-V353 supports mATX and mini-ITX boards. It's made of all aluminum and relies on natural airflow through mesh vents, taking aim at "users wanting a noise-free, passively cooled system." Other features include a slide-out motherboard trade, two 3.5-inch hard drive bays, two 2.5-inch SSD bays, a 5.25-inch optical drive bay, a pair of front-mounted USB 3.0 ports, eSATA, anti-vibration springs, and tool-less construction.

Lian Li's other new case is the PC-Q25, a compact mini-tower that's also built from all-aluminum. It's designed for mini-ITX motherboards but can still accommodate up to eight drives, including support for up to five SATA hot swap HDDS, and a standard ATX power supply. There's a 140mm fan situated at the front panel and a 120mm fan up top.

No word on when these cases will ship or for how much.
