LG's Quad-Core X3 Smartphone Leaks to Web, Needs a Name Change

Smartphone makers by and large appear to be skipping tri-core silicon and heading straight into four-core territory as they roll out high-end models for 2012. One of those is the X3, LG's upcoming flagship quad-core smartphone that will be powered by Nvidia's Tegra 3 chipset and Google's Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform. A name change is probably in the cards.
The X3 codename is in reference to the Tegra 3 chip inside, but if LG sticks with that name, it could confuse consumers into thinking it's rocking a tri-core processor instead of a quad-core chip.
Either way, Pocket Now, which posted a pic and specs of the upcoming and unannounced smartphone to the Web, reports the X3 will ship with a 4.7-inch display (1280x720), 16GB of built-in storage flanked by a microSD card slot, 8MB rear-facing camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera. 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 21Mbps HSPA all wrapped in a rather svelte sub 9mm profile.

Cool - 3 quad-core processors? So 12 cores in total? Awesome... oh wait...

How about the LG Four? It refers to the quad core and Android 4.0.
