So what kind of battery life are we looking at with quad core phones? Cool, they set new benchmark records but if I'm charging this thing twice a day, I'd rather stick with a slower and more functional phone.

In theory, you should have better battery life with the Tegra 3 chipset than with previous dual-core phones. The reason for this is that this "quad core" chip actually has a hidden fifth core that runs as a low power single core cpu when the phone is not underload. What this means is when you're browsing the web or playing a game it will utilized the quad core set, but when you close out the app and turn the screen off, the hidden low power fifth core takes over as long as your phone is idling. Beyond that, screw LG, they'll find a way to screw this up like they did the G2X.

I also have to wonder about that - you don't need all that much power to browse the web and run fart apps...

It's a fucking phone. Are you going to do a little protein folding with it, or order Chinese?

This type of thinking is what got Bill Gates into trouble.

"No one will ever need more than 640k of RAM" -- Bill Gates

"No one will ever need a 4-core HD smartphone" -- You

Gates was dead wrong, and I hold that you are as well. There's no way to sugar-coat it.

I am going to modify some files for clients and gather last minute information for presentations which have to be timely. Look, I do not need all the power I have in my main desktop either, but I want it. Deal with it.

I had a chance to really see what the Tegra 3 can do at CES. The potential for this unit is amazing. With that stealth 5th core the battery life could also be equally amazing.

3000mAh? If that is the case, it's a buy for me, but the link you give says it's only 2000mAh?
