Lenovo Introduces ThinkPad Hybrid Laptop and 1TB Ultrabook for Business Users

The folks over at Lenovo have been busy unwrapping a bunch of new notebook models for its business customers, and two of the more interesting units are the new ThinkPad X1 Hybrid and ThinkPad T430u Ultrabook. Both will be demonstrated at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week before shipping off to retail later this year.

Lenovo's new ThinkPad X1 Hybrid will come equipped with an Intel Core i3, i5, or i7 processor, a 13.1-inch Gorilla Glass display, and other familiar amenities, but what really sets this thing apart is its split personality. There isn't just an Intel processor nestled inside, it's also rocking a Qualcomm dual-core Snapdragon processor so you can load up Linux in its Instant Media Mode. Think of it as an instant-on option, but with a dedicated processor.

On the Ultrabook front, the ThinkPad T430u measures 20.3mm and weighs 1.8kg. It comes with a choice of Intel Core processor, up to 1TB of hard drive storage (as well as an SSD option), Nvidia graphics, and a 14-inch display.

The X1 Hybrid will ship in the second quarter of 2012 starting at $1,600, followed by the T430u in Q3 starting at $850.
