Left 4 Dead 2 Sells Over Two Million Copies at Retail Alone, DLC Details Coming “Very Soon”

Zombie hunting season is officially open, and Valve has another hit on its ESRB-compliant hands. After little more than two weeks on shelves, Left 4 Dead 2’s retail tally has slashed through the two million mark like a katana through brittle undead flesh.
“Left 4 Dead 2 is off to a great start with strong support at retail and great reviews from the press,” said Doug Lombardi, VP of marketing at Valve. “Meanwhile the title has already been played by over 1 million Xbox LIVE Gold account holders, and news regarding L4D2 DLC 1 is coming very soon.”
Valve also added that “sales to date are more than double the original title.”
As for the real zombie apocalypse, well, we're guessing that’s probably on hold. Odds are, its brain-munching participants are cemented to their screens at the moment, completely addicted to Left 4 Dead 2 just like the rest of us.

there was a typo. Instead of it saying Left 4 Dead 2, it said Left 4 Dead 4. but it's since been fixed!

I don't own either one but have played the demo on both. I like Zoey of L4D1 cuz she's very pretty and attractive :) How come its always just 4 humans ? I wish they made it 8 humans on L4D2, meaning adding the new group of 4 to the existing group of 4 from L4D1.
I want to buy either L4D1 or L4D2 though ! or both. I hope Steam will come out with a bundle early next year, since we're all gonna be busy with pre-christmas holidays anyways).

I like L4D2 but I really miss the Bill, Francis, Louis, and Zoey...
They totally need to make movies from the 4.5 chapters of the L4D1 franchise a la Zombieland style!
Everyone, remember Rule #1 - Cardio!

I dunno. I have both L4D and L4D2. For some reason L4D still has a better feel to it that L4D2.
I always thought that having maps that were broader would be better but there is something about going through the narrower L4D maps that make it more exciting.
The melee weapons are a nice touch but I still like wielding dual pistols.
My favorite things in L4D2 is the bile bombs and the jockey. Jockey doesn't do much damage but the ability to draw your opponent away from his help or into dire situations is pretty fun.
Hoepfully there will be some way to meld the 2 games together.
