Left 4 Dead 2 Coming to Australia – Decapitation, Dismemberment, and Gore Are Not

Is some Left 4 Dead 2 better than none at all? We’re thinking “yes,” but that probably won’t stop Australian gamers from wishing they could tear whoever censored Left 4 Dead 2 limb-from-limb.
See, while decapitation and dismemberment are apparently physically impossible over in Australia, neutering isn’t – as evidenced by Left 4 Dead 2’s sterilized state.
“The board notes that the game no longer contains depictions of decapitation, dismemberment, wound detail or piles of dead bodies lying about the environment,” said a note by Australia’s Classification Board. “No wound detail is shown and the implicitly dead bodies and blood splatter disappear as they touch the ground.”
Valve still hopes to eventually release an unedited version of the game as DLC in good ol’ Oz. That is, if it can find a way to sneak past the big, bag Classification Board.
For now, though, all those kangaroos, koalas, and Wizards Of are going to miss out on the Violence Orgy. But don't worry about it too much, Aussie readers; the violence was only there to hide the real meat of Left 4 Dead 2: the racism. Good thing the Classification Board missed that. It was so blatantly obvious to everyone else, too. Close shave, that.

Won't this game be available on Steam, from servers in virtual space nirvana, where Aussies can download anything they like if they have a credit card (someone's credit card, at least)? Does Australia have Chinese filters on their interwebz?
And the libertarian crybaby noize is just sad. OF the people, by the people, for the people rules the industrialized west. Despite a lot of whining from pampered suburban white crybabies, we are still free in the US, Canada, much of Europe, the former Soviet states, etc. to do mostly what we want, even lots of dumb and frivolous things. Like whining about the government on the (government funded and created) internet.

...I heard the australian government had plans to censor the interwebs for anything "illegal". Bear in mind that they consider lots of stuff to be illegal (article), so yeah. The chinese have a new freind!

That looks like a cricket at he has. Could this be a bit of a nod to the Female Scout model made for TF2 by some modders? After all, the Scout voice actor really wanted that role as the mechanic kid, but Valve dropped him in favor of someone who sounded Southern.
CLICK.

....I like how ironicly, Maximum PC couldn't get any other "screenshot" of the game, but one of a "white" male bashing in a "black" male.....I mean, even with everything being thrown at Left 4 Dead 2 already. Lol.

As long as we here in the US can enjoy decapitations and limbs flying,it really doesn't matter what other countries more restrictive views on what people do in their own homes.
I mean its too bad for them, but at least we can enjoy the coming Zombie Apocalypse in Technicolor

Are you sure 'Realism' mode means all the gore, etc?
I assumed it just meant the hardest level of gameplay, zombies are harder to kill, less ammo etc.

They will be including a "Realism" mode in which Valve says is for the "Hardened" players. Hmmm gee I wonder what this "Realism" mode could possibly be?
