it's the dual gk 104 card. Hopefully gk110 releases in august as speculated. I should be able to hold out with tri sli 480s until then since no graphically demanding games are being released. 4x GK110s will be crazy.

Hmmm... I would love it to be a 200$ - 300$ range 600-series instead.

No way can I afford 500+$ GPUs. If they don't have a mid-range 600 by the time Diablo III comes out, I'm going AMD.

The Corrupted One

On top of the 1 grand+ it will cost, everyone will have to spend 100$ on a new 80000000000000000000000000000000000000 Wat PSU.

I don't think so. GK104 is actually pretty efficient...moreso than, for example, the HD 7970 or GF110 (which was already made into a double card). If that is what they're doing, it won't take more than 3-400w, which is very doable.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's the GTX680M. GK104 with a downclock and some disabled SM's to raise performance above existing mobile solutions.

My guess is the 700 Series.

I just drooled on my keyboard at the idea of a GTX 690.

They are coming out with their own console that will beat out the others.

So rather than pushing out a 670 to actually increase the number of customers who would buy their products now, they will release a card that is way out of the scope of many financially conscious customers? I don't understand their logic, but okay. More money for AMD it looks like.

It doesn't really matter what this thing will cost. By slapping 2 GPUs onto one card, they will be able to hold that coveted "most powerful graphics card" slot for quite some time. Forget that most people won't be able to afford or utilize this thing. It's a successful marketing gimmick.

Still, they got my attention.

This is kinda disappointing. I'm hoping nVidia will make the leap into desktop x86 performance CPUs sometime soon.

How much would that beast cost? A grand? More?

So THAT's why we can't find any 680's to buy. They're slapping all the GPU's into this. ;)

I'd like to see a 4 GPU card. No real reason except to homage the legendary 3dfx card that tried that. Full circle development, kinda ;)

Heh, that is a problem! So this would be a paper only release for sure...
