Intel's Sandy Bridge CPUs to Have 2x the Graphics Performance
Intel’s graphics offerings have traditionally been a little lackluster, but that could be about to change. Intel has reportedly informed its corporate partners that the new Sandy Bridge CPUs will be available by year’s end, and will pack a significant graphics performance increase. Intel is claiming as much as a doubling of performance. A “doubling” compared to what is currently unclear, but one could assume Intel is referring to the current Nehalem architecture.
The Sandy Bridge parts will be based on a 32nm manufacturing process and will have an on die graphics processor. The CPU core will be capable of clocks up to 4GHz and some models will have eight cores. ATI and Nvidia plan to move to 28nm graphics cores, which would leave Intel the only purveyor of 32nm cores.
We’d all love to see a doubling of performance over the poor Intel HD graphics found in the current Nehalem line. Only time will tell if this is just more wild speculation.

Intel's Sandy Bridge CPUs to Have 2x the Graphics Performance. I think it will be the ideal machine for 3D games kitchen cabinets orange county. Can you give me an idea should i buy this for playing 3D video games.

Way to go Intel. By catering to OEM's, and those are about the only people stupid enough to buy one of your dual core with graphics CPU's, you've totally jacked over your loyal dual core following. The GPU on the CPU has greatly impacted the performnace of the memory buss due to the way Intel routed the memory controller over and through the GPU.
Fix the damned memory controller congiuration and maybe that CPU will be recommended by people like me. Until then, forget it.

Seriously. Intel is, what, on its first version of this stuff? Cut them come slack. The stuff may not game properly, but their FIRST IGP (in a CPU) does 2D HD quite well. Secondly, Intel is pretty much the first company to put graphics INSIDE the processor. I say we give them some time to let the stuff improve. Of course, the best graphics will always be dedicated, but just like midrange soundcards are now soldered to motherboards, midrange graphics will be soldered to the processor.

Insmell is not the first company to do this. AMD has had theirs in the works for a long time. And AMD's is using a proper graphics adapter, not whatever it is that Intel tries to pass off as a graphics adapter...

Is there even a date for expected launch? I'm not so much exited about the graphics preformance because it will probobly still be crap, but a 4Ghz 8 core cpu sounds cool. But I doubt we will see this untill 2012 - 2013.

Intel, I think it's time for you to give up on an IGP or DGP, and just stick to CPU's. You can make a graphics adapter to save your life! Cut your losses, and move on!

0 x 2 = ?
Intel, just pay licensing to Nvidia and put their graphics to work.....'cause you suck at it.
