New sources came out today and it says the upcoming Intel chipset for Ivy Bridge will support not only USB 3.0 but also Thunderbolt.

The Inquirer is right. @ssholes announced to support USB 3 after('cause) AMD did. Intel is too scared to give up their lead in the cpu market. I am all for "one cable to rule them all" concept but don't believe in having one company set the so called standard for it. Go AMD!

Yeah Intel always follows AMD's lead on new tech. Some other AMD firsts are desktop dual cores, 64bit desktop CPUs and execution disable bit support.
