What about that new memory that was recently developed that is coming to televisions? Why can't that come to the PC as well? (It's way faster).

I'm going to guess expensiveness and form factor.

I thought we skipped DDR4 and went right to DDR5.  Isn"t that what is on video cards?

Ah. who can keep up these days?

I might be wrong but I think that DDR video memory isn't the same as DDR system memory. So skipping a generation was viable with video cards but doing the same with system memory isn't.

GDDR and DDR arn't the same. Also we didn't skip a generation, ATI's Radeon X1950 XTX was the first card to have it.....but most of you are too young to remember that. The main reason why it never caught on was price. It simply wasn't much faster than GDDR3 to justify the price.

I'll take that as a challenge.
