iBuyPower Rolls Out GamerPower BTS11 Rig for Student Gamers
It's already the first week of August, and if you're a student, that means back-to-school shopping is just around the corner, provided you haven't already stocked up on supplies for the coming semester. Boutique system vendor iBuyPower wants to help, though not with pencils, notebook paper, or any of that jazz. Instead, iBuyPower is taking direct aim at student gamers with the launch of its new Gamer Power BTS11 system.
The "dorm room ready" BTS11 is a customizable gaming machine that starts out at $1,000 and includes an NZXT Phantom case, liquid cooled Intel Core i5 2500K processor, Gigabyte GA-P67-D3-B3 motherboard, 8GB of DDR3-1600 memory, Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti graphics card with 1GB of video memory, 750GB hard drive (7200RPM, 32MB cache, SATA 6Gbps), 24X DVD burner, 600W power supply, and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
"This time of year students and parents are scrambling to buy books and school supplies, and a new computer is often at the top of that list," said Darren Su, Vice President of iBuyPower. "We designed Gamer Power BTS11 to meet the dual needs of the student gamer, offering a solid value without sacrificing performance."
Call it clever marketing if you will, as we're not sure what constitutes this particular setup as dorm room friendly, though it does come preloaded with Office Starter 2010, so we suppose there's that. In any event, the BTS11 is available now through September 30, 2011.
