HP VP Confirms An Ultrabook Is Coming
So, it’s official: HP is staying in the PC game. Way to make the right choice, Meg Whitman! But even though the company has decided to stick to the status quo and keep offering hardware for the masses, the masses are a little confused HP’s recent “WTF?” business maneuvering. Whitman’s well aware of the confusion the flip-flopping has caused. So how is HP going to win back the hearts and minds of customers? Maybe with a kick-ass Ultrabook. A company VP confirmed that one of the diminutive powerhouses is on HP’s radar sometime down the line.
“Ultramobile is a notebook category of sub-17 millimeter notebooks,” Todd Bradley, the executive vice president of HP’s Personal Systems Group, said in a conference call late yesterday. “We’re very focused on having a suite in that ultramobile space. And you’ll see that very soon.”
So there you have it: HP’s finally getting into the Ultrabook game. Will its as-yet-unknown notebook be able to hang with the Ultrabooks Acer, Asus and Toshiba have put out? Only time will tell, but a strong offering would definitely help the company regain some glory in end-users' eyes.

Better yet, why not the best of both worlds, a Transformer 2/Atrix tablet-phone with a dock that has an option to multiboot Linux, Android and Windows 8, or just one bootup. And make that with Wifi only or 4G capable with voice telephony. That should be a killer comeback.

I would like to see an ultrabook styled version of their touchsmart laptop. I love my touchsmart tm2, but a lighter version would be nice.

An Ultrabook and an ultra tablet would be great and when I say tablet, I mean a tablet with either android ICS, Honeycom, tablet friendly Ubuntu latest version, or Windows on it.
