HP to Sell TouchPad Tablet in April

Citing sources from HP's upstream component partners, DigiTimes says shipments of Hewlett-Packard's upcoming TouchPad tablet will start delivery by the end of March. HP will then begin selling its webOS 3.0-based tablet in April, one year after Apple got the tablet market rolling with its iPad device.
Internally, HP is hoping to ship 45-48 million notebooks and tablet PCs combined by the end of 2011. Of those, HP expects tablets to account for 4-5 million units. That's a somewhat ambitious goal, but attainable if the TouchPad lives up to expectations. The TouchPad boasts a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, 9.7-inch display, 16GB/32GB of internal storage, and what's looking like a slick platform in webOS 3.0.
The TouchPad will also face some stiff competition, not only with the iPad, but with the upcoming iPad 2, Motorola Xoom, and BlackBerry PlayBook, to name some of the more anticipated slates on the horizon.

It would be nice if HP would quit being so secretive on the price, which leads me to believe it will be in the Xoom range, and therefor out of the range most peopel will be willing to pay.
