Posted 11/20/08 at 11:04:19 AM | by Paul Lilly
Dual-channel memory might not be dead, but Intel's Core i7 platform has kicked off the era of triple-channel memory kits and most manufacturers have already jumped on board. Enter Mushkin, who not only is making tri-channel DDR3 kits available, but has launched 16 different models ranging in speed from 1066MHz to 1600MHz.

"We’ve worked diligently to create parts for the Core i7 platform that push specifications to unprecedented levels while maintaining the high quality and reliability standards of our existing products," said Brian Flood, director of product development for Mushkin. "Our triple-pack customers will be rewarded with the utmost reliability from our standard rated products, and greatly increased performance from our high performance line."
Mushkin claims that each kit is hand-tested beyond its rated specification, suggesting at least a modicum of overclocking headroom. Each of the 16 kits also come bearing Mushkin's FrostByte heatspreader.
All kits are available now at Mushkin.com.

What's with the reflections in the image there? Mushkin's a pretty good brand... you'd think they could afford a good graphics artist.
I have to admit...

Mushkin Brand

Mushkin puts out some good kits, but companies like Corsair, OCZ, and Kingston tend to lead the way in brand-recognition. If you recall back in the DDR days, Mushkin came out with a Redline kit, an extremely high voltage kit of RAM designed for high overclocks at tight timings. OCZ was the only other company to offer a similar product in its VX line (OCZ's VX came first), which used WinBond chips and required active cooling. These were particularly big hits among DFI owners, which tended to be made up of extreme overclockers.

Check out their wikipedia entry (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mushkin). It's based out of Colorado, employee-owned, and makes RAM for NASA. Good enough for NASA = good enough for me!
What was that quote in the movie Armageddon?

"Did you know we are sitting on 2 million gallons of fuel, a nuclear
weapon and a thing with 270,000 loose parts that was built by the
lowest bidder. Kinda makes you feel good dont it?"The moral is...like any outsourcing, it goes to the lowest bidder, not neccessarily the best.
But, if the ruling is they are good from those who have used them, then it's good. Word of
mouth is always the best advertising
