When will some HD vendor figure out how to properly do a hybrid drive that has a 32GB, or larger, boot sector on it that's SSD and then incorporates tried and true spindle/platter tech for volume? All in the same 2.5-inch enclosure, or hell, even 3.5-inch for my desktop PC. I know it's a stop-gap product, but I don't want to give up the massive space at the price point for my traditional hard drive(s). And I don't want to pay the crazy rate per GB for the SSD.

I'm glad to see this is the 'standard' 9.5mm height.

Wait for the ATA-8 standard to get done.  Hybrid drives will be part of it, and then maybe we can get useful implimentations of them.
