Hackers Target Goldman Sachs CEO, Reveal Personal Info in Data Dump
We understand that Goldman Sachs Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Blankfein is a busy man. Running a multi-billion dollar company tends to cut into your free time, that's just the way it is. Even still, the 57-year-old CEO would be wise to scrap any and all passwords and come up with new ones following a data dump of his personal information on Pastebin.
CNet discovered the data leak, of which a group of hackers going by the name "CabinCr3w" are taking credit for. Details posted to Pastebin include information about Blankfein's recent addresses, court cases, business registrations, and date of birth. Other personal information such as his social security number, credit card numbers, banking information, and other financial details were not compromised, or at least not included in the data dump.
It's unclear why Blankfein was targeted. He's not the first to have some of his details exposed by CabinCr3w, which earlier this week posted information about a New York police office who used pepper spray during the "Occupy Wall Street" protest.

At first I was all pissed that they would release peoples e-mail etc etc. But after reading so many articles about these groups hacking exploits, I think I finally get it.
Do they release this info to discourage users from using the targets services? Therefor harming the target in ways other than embarassment, increased IT costs?
I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong but it's just a theory.
These groups feel that everything should be free and open (including information) These supposed targets, have in some way or another (possibly?) infringed in their views of freedom. In turn caused them to be a target?
Or is it they just hack what ever they can then make up a reason afterwards as to why?

Anyone up for cloud storage of personal information? The servers promise the data is secure. Or maybe a whole computer running in the cloud, so every little thing you do is stored there?
