Google Increases Size of the Search Box, Symbolizing its Focus

In an attempt to make search “easier” for people to use, Google has made their famous search box bigger.
In a blog post written by Google’s vice president for search products and user experience Marissa Mayer, she explains that the change symbolizes their focus on search. She also added that the aesthetic change makes the home page even easier and more fun to use.

Google innovates.
You gotta feel good about responsive companies.
You choose a flightless bird as a mascot and wonder why it doesn't take off?

Doesn't matter to me. I never use their homepage anyway -- I use the search bar in the toolbar.

Uh-oh! They'd better patent this too. "A minimalist search homepage featuring a slightly larger search box"

I got upset because I thought the zoom/text size feature of FF was broken. :3
Its not something that bugs me though, just a shocker.

That explains why it looked different. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me or my screen settings got weird or something. Goes to show how accustomed to the little things we get.
