my hatred for apple has been cemented. I love my galaxy tab 10.1

How about samsung just make phones that are rectangular with sharp corners that just pop off. They'd be sold with sharp corners, and then the consumer can use them in a different way than they were "designed" and pop the corners off.

No. No it isn't.

I should start drawing generic ideas then send them off the patent office. lol

Can we all just go back to tin cans and a string? I think that's still public domain.

While all this is going on, Microsoft is sitting on the sidelines getting a good laugh.

South Korea's court says Apple infringed on Samsung as well as Samsung infringed on Apple, and the California federal court here awards Apple a billion dollars.

Looks to me like Samsung should sue Apple for their infringement, so they can call it a wash.

What I'm wondering is - how much is this going to effect Apple sales? If you went by the forums here, I'd say they'll drop like the proverbial rock, but this is pretty much PC country so I don't know. I haven't read in any forums any opinion that came out in support of Apple though - this may turn into a publicity nightmare for them.

Yeah. Maybe they'll eventually learn that if you keep hitting something, it'll eventually hit back.... nah, they probably won't.

why cant these people get another judge???

avatar

Scatter

You can't just replace judges until you get a decision that you like. That defeats the entire point of our jury system.

avatar

Cy-Kill

Samsung had no chance with the jury because of Apple's lapdog named Lucy Koh; Samsung needs -- will? -- appeal this, and they need to do so in front of a true impartial judge which Koh was not!

truth. the courts are as corrupt as the politicians now days. I have bought a few apple products over the last couple years. i will never buy anything apple again. competition through litigation is not something i wish to support.

Looking goooood in the trash.

There is little that could make Windows Phone look good. If Android got sued out of existence, I'd sooner use an iPhone.

WP has all the limitations of iOS with none of iOS's appeal. There is a really good reason it is still languishing in the low single digits for marketshare.

If android got sued out of existence, I'd sooner use my old Sanyo feature flip phone than use either iphone or windows.

avatar

LatiosXT

What I find funny is Apple didn't start suing the ass out of Android hardware makers until Windows Phone 7 came out. THEN they realized "oh hey, you can make something that doesn't look like ours"

avatar

Engelsstaub

Agree.

avatar

Browncow8

Still looks like shit!

avatar

brettskiness

So.... is Windows phone any good? Windows phone 8 gonna be a hit or a slump you guys think, based on it's actual quality and not on the state of the marketplace right now.

What is WP going to do that Android and/or iOS already do not already do as well or better? There is your answer.

So far I have seen nothing impressive about WP. Even WP8 is mostly me-too features that Android has already had for a long time. Yeah it has a smooth UI, but iOS has had that forever as well, and now Android has it too. What is WP8 bringing to the table?

I for one enjoy the Windows phone. Yes. I know the limitations with WP7 but for some reason neither Android, Apple, or RIM convinced me to go with their products.

I like the UI and since I use and pay for Xbox live and Zune (Xbox Music?) experience I prefer the intrgated solution that comes with it.

My 2 cents.

2 cents won't even get you a free app in windows market place.

+1 to Juan
I've had a few different WP7 models since launch day. I love the UI and everything being integrated IS something that the other platforms don't offer to this degree. When I upgraded to my new phone, I signed-in with my Microsoft Account and was up and running before the AT&T rep could print my receipt. Contacts, pictures, SkyDrive, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Zune Pass music streaming. Done. Since then, I've been re-installing apps as I need them rather than spending a whole day getting it "just right."

I think you mean rim/apple/google, not rim/apple/android
