The only series I've bought from Ubisoft is Assassin's Creed since like Mass Effect, has something that interests me. I'd probably pirate some of their other games but the trouble is, I have no interest in them. I've tried playing a couple Splinter Cell games on my cousin's PS2 and PS3 but never really got into them. But yes, UPlay can royally suck at times. I remember when it was offline for like 3 days. I was pissed since I really wanted to finish up some stuff for AC:R. I'm also thinking about picking up the AC1+AC2 combo pack at my local Target store for like $10 just so that I can own all of the AC games (for PC) leading up to AC3. As for AC3, haven't pre-ordered it since I'll be waiting for a while to see what bugs and other technical issues the game would have (besides the shitty DRM).

I'm not going to boycott Ubisoft as I'm addicted to Assassin's Creed, but now I stick to the PS3 versions. I'll "boycott" their other titles though (which I technically already do, since I haven't bought any of them).

Unfortunately, buying the game for the consoles only solidifies their (and I'll quote from another poster) "lackluster feelings" towards PC Gaming. We want better quality games without the unnecessary DRM. I would rather pirate Ubisoft titles than deal with their severe DRM methods.

Haven't bought a game from them in about 5 years and won't until they stop with the DRM nonsense.
Look at The Witcher series. No DRM, great games and they sold ver well.

Take a hint, Ubi!

Same here man. Haven't purchased a Ubi game in about 5 years, give or take.

I love the Splinter Cell games, but I've been renting them for the console since they have little replay value for PC. They're fun to play and beat...and then move on.

If you are going to boycott Ubisoft you need to do it for all platforms. I admit that there have been several games I would have loved to play, but Ubisoft developed them. I have not given Ubisoft a single penny in almost 15 years. I will not give them a single penny until they adopt a reasonable DRM scheme that respects my privacy and my ownership of the game I purchased.

Right on. Playing them on console is still letting them win. They don't want you to play PC games; they want you to move to a closed system like consoles where the publishers can keep a tighter leash on software.

It doesn't matter to their bank account what you buy it on. Don't give them a cent.

Agreed, playing on the console lets Ubisoft win, and it hurts you more than playing on the PC.

Ubisoft is thus "justified" in their PC drm and lackluster attitude towards PC gaming in general, and you have to suffer the horribly backwards console playing experiences of low resolution graphics, low texture detailing, smaller levels, discs, and RIDICULOUSLY long and frequent load screens.

I'm glad the most recent Ubisoft purchase I've made was Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.... back in 2005...

You win. I've been boycotting them since FarCry2, so 2008 or so. Still, nice to see I'm free and clear as far(Cry2) as this issue goes.

it's not all versions. I have HoMM6 installed and I don't have that plugin in any browser.
It's also interesting that, for once, Internet Explorer is not affected by the exploit :)

It took some strong willpower to avoid some of their games on the steam sale but this just made me feel very good that I did. Ubisoft needs to change their methods fast or they're going to destroy themselves.

Let your dollar be your voice, show Ubisoft their DRM is the crap of all crap.

Whenever I see a Ubisoft title, I just turn around and walk away. Their DRM methods are ridiculous and I won't support them at all, even if the title is going to be good.

Same here. If I see the Ubisoft name on a game I pass regardless of how good that game looks.

That's why I play all Ubisoft titles on either PS3 or OnLive.

Ditto, and Ditto.

ugh, I'm not a fan of lawsuits but I hope someone runs Ubisoft into the ground!

Heh; good thing I boycotted Ubitsoft for it's DRM tatctics years ago. They just make it so easy to hate them.

Same here.
