Gigabyte Launches "Virtually Silent" GeForce GTX 550 Ti Overclock Edition
Gigabyte claims its new GeForce GTX 550 Ti Overclock Edition graphics card strikes just the right balance between faster clockspeeds and quiet computing. Armed with a custom cooler, the GV-N550OC-1GI, as it's named, boasts "extraordinary overclocking ability" and outpaces reference GTX 550 Ti cards by 6 percent, Gigabyte says.
The custom cooler was designed in-house and utilizes a 10cm fan with a pure copper node inside. It's virtually silent, Gigabyte says, running anywhere from 21.7-28 dBA at its loudest. It also cools 8.7 percent better than a stock heatsink/fan, the company claims.
Gigabyte's version of the Ti 550 also includes better power switching loss, two dual-link DVI-I ports, HDMI with HDCP protection, 1GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 4200MHz on a 192-bit bus, 1940MHz shader clock, and 970MHz core clock.

What's the point? 550 Ti is still a piece of shit card. A cheaper 5770 is almost as good, a cheaper GTX 460 768mb is better. A 1GB 460 can be had for the same price and is better!
Nvidia fail pricing.

I recently bought an EVGA 550 Ti. Saved some money on a combo, $20 rebate, free Mafia 2 voucher, free 3dMark 11, and a free software package as well. All-in-all it was a pretty good deal for a budget card.
