If you look at the featured content image, at least right now, Prophet from Crysis 3 is pointing his bow straight at the Craken in this article's picture XD

I like competition, I just don't feel like AMD is worthy. Their drivers are the downfall to their entire line. If you're lucky to have a setup that just works, don't install many games or like to tweak, AMD might be fine. If you just want to play a lot of games, nVidia has their drivers in order for the most part. User fixes are a lot more common as well.

I agree. They have no reason to make it better. But as for AMD they play a different role when it comes to GPU's they make budget parts. They don't want to make beating nvidia there main goal. What they want is to make great price/performance parts and that's what matters to them. AMD cards value lies in overclocking anyway.

their cards cost the same as nvidia and in some cases out perform them as well.

Jesus christ. HD8K had better be insane or else the red teamis in trouble.

Hey.That_Dude

They're going to gimp it so that it isn't better. They don't have a reason to unseat the champ if they ARE the champ.

avatar

Peanut Fox

If it's cheaper to make and they can take in a lager profit margin on it, that's a very good reason to unseat the "champ"

Ye what ever my 2 cheep 336 cuda budget 560's in sli will run every thing i throw at it on my 27"at ult or max settings right now so i think me and my 16gig 6core with ssd will pass in this one
It seems the gaming develipment is laging behind the hardwere development buy some distance when 2 year old hardware can run any game on the shelf with out breaking a sweet

Well, of course, considering that games are developed with the lowest common denominator in mind these days. And a good chunk of video game budgets sometimes cost as much as a Hollywood movie just for marketing.

Part of the other reason may be because in action games, it's not really a good use of developer resources to add detail that isn't going to be noticed. Sure, I'd love to see every character in a game that has thousands of individually rendered hair strands, but when that character is trying to shoot you, you really don't care.

Agreed. My 2 sli GTX 480s @ 1080p eat anything and everything i've thrown at them and I'm even running just an AMD fx 6300. Considering this blazes through Crysis 3 beta, I think I'm gonna sit out on the 7 series as well
