Foxnews.com Reporter Reviews Wolverine Leak, Gets Sacked

In what might might not have the brightest move in hindsight, 10-year Foxnews.com columnist Roger Friedman posted a short review of the pirated flick "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," which will be released in theaters May 1st. Consider that 20th Century Fox is a subsidiary of News Corp, and it shouldn't be too surprising the suits in charge opted to issue Friedman a pink slip.
"Roger Friedman's views in no way reflect the views of News Corporation," News Corp. said in a statement. "We, along with 20th Century Film Corporation, have been a consistent leader in the fight against piracy and have a zero tolerance for any action that encourages and promotes piracy. When we advised Fox News of the facts, they took immediate action, removed the post, and promptly terminated Mr. Friedman."
The statement issued by Fox News wasn't quite as harsh, claiming Friedman and Fox News "mutually agreed to part ways immediately" and wishing Friedman "success in his future endeavors."
It probably didn't help Friedman's case that, in addition to writing about Wolverine, he said he was also able to find the current top 10 movies in theaters, and that "Later tonight I may finally catch up with Paul Rudd in 'I Love You, Man.' It's so much easier than going out in the rain!"
Did News Corp. and Foxnewx.com overreact, or did Friedman bring this upon himself?
Seriously???

For some reason the guy thinks he's not going to get in trouble by reviewing a movie that he shouldn't have seen yet? And then to top it off says he's might watch another one later that night without going to the theater to see it. RETARD!!! If you're going to steal, atleast be smart enough not to yell out "Hey, look at what I'm stealing! It's such a great product!" I'll wait for the movie to hit the theaters as I'm sure the finished product in a good theater will be worth the wait. I'm sure the reporter is wishing he had waited!

A small child cries out, "But he has nothing on!" The crowd realizes
the child is telling the truth. The Emperor, however, holds his head
high and continues the procession. (And then has the child fired for good measure)
Yeah...

I have downloaded my fair share of movies and TV shows (about 60% of the time buying them soon after) however, i never get prints....DVD Rip's or Screeners. Mainly because it sullies the movie in my eyes to see harnesses, however this happened to Spiderman and The Hulk, so are they surprised? Big time production that everyone's excited for, super popular comic book, big name actor, nerds with the ability to do what they please, and a free watermarked (which can be reverse engineered with proper tools and efforts) copy of the movie.
On the one hand, he should NOT have admitted to the company that is in partial production with the movie, that he has viewed it, without prior consent. And the fact that he reviewed it, and gave it a good review, does not redeem a damn thing. He still did something that's a gray area where he should have known better to keep it to himself and maybe just not publish his review, wait till release night, and edit it a little, then put it up. (Streaming videos is still not legal or illegal for the most part, many still feel it's somewhat moral, since it cannot be distributed as a form of media between people, instead over broadband from servers)
On the other end of things now, he could have been given a thanks for putting out a great review on something that's incomplete, basically pushing the complete copy to be beyond all wildest expectations.
Honestly it's a two end story, and all of which involved have their own views on this situation. Even though he's a bit stupid for posting it up, and i hope he's read this, i also wish he has some success in later life, and learned from this mistake.

I only have three comments:
1.Dude! That was stupid! 2. If you are going to do it, don't talk about it on a national stage. Stupid! 3. Buy an umbrella... STUPID!

Meh, He was a goon working for the man anyways. I think once something has gone public it's fair game. Then again Fox News is Fair and Balanced.
