Firefox 3.1 Beta 1 Released, Brings 3D Tab Switching and Geolocation

The first beta of Firefox 3.1 has arrived after being delayed by about a month. This beta release introduces the ability to switch between tabs using the Ctrl-Tab combination (3d tab switching). The tab-switching feature has been available in form of an extension till now.
Users can also drag and drop tabs between different Firefox windows. The beta release also has geolocation capability – currently available as an add-on - built into it. Geolocation allows users to interact with the web based on their geographic location.
The inbuilt geolocation feature in Firefox 3.1 and Geode – the geolocation extension - are slightly dissimilar. The difference lies in the fact that the former offers users a choice between GPS-based tracking and WiFi-based tracking, whereas Geode only counts on WiFi for tracking the location of a user.

Wow, your reply was constructive and helpful. Just like this reply is ... you freaking noob.
Google much?
I am NOT the only one having a problems with v.3, many people are. Firefox v.2 works perfectly, v.3 does not and as a matter of fact I actually recall an article on MaxPC stating the same thing!
So please, before you stick your foot in your big arsed mouth, google!

We've released FF3 into an environment with over 2000 workstations and our helpdesk is not getting reports of the random crashes you claim.
So again, I suggest you look elsewhere.

First, I call BS on your claim to both 2000 workstations and the fact that you have not had one random crash.
Second, google is your friend...
http://www.google.com/search?q=firefox+3+crash&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
It's not me and as I said there was even an article on this site saying firefox 3 is having some issues with random crashing.
Anyways, I am done feeding you troll. Go back to your bridge and get a freaking life.

If you scroll up you'll note I didn't say it NEVER crashes. I said "our helpdesk is not getting reports of the random crashes you claim." Nothing's perfect, least of all software. But as far as our metrics show Firefox 3 is no worse than other browsers or other versions of Firefox.
I don't doubt that if you Google firefox crashes you'll find pages. If you google the moon is made of cheese I'm sure you'll also find lots evidence on the web to support that as well. Remember, people don't get to the end of their work day and say, "Hey, Firefox didn't crash today... I think I'll blog that."
Do I doubt Firefox is crashing on you? Absolutely not! I'm sure there is some sort of configuration conflict between Firefox and your PCs. Maybe extensions, or spyware, or something in about:config, could be anything.
I'd encourage you to investigate what specifically is causing the problem rather than taking the knee-jerk reaction and blaming the browser.
There are many satisfied Firefox users out there. A little dilligence and you can be one too.

I don't care about new freakin features ... I just want the damn thing to stop crashing.
Every computer I use, from work to home, has the same problem with firefox and it seems completely random. It just crashes when it feels like it. I could be away from the computer with a normal webpage loaded and when I return I see the firefox has crashed screen.

Hrm... what's the one common factor of all these crashing computers YOU use?
Firefox works fine, I suggest you look elsewhere for your problem.

Not sure which version of Firefox you've been using but ctrl-tab's always worked for me on a plain install going back as far as I can remember.
3d tab switching sounds fun though. Looks very "Macish".
