Facebook to Sell Data on Users for Market Research

It looks like Facebook is finally planning to capitalize on all that precious information that its 150 million users put on their profiles by creating one of the world’s largest market research databases.
“I had tons of people saying 'this could be so incredible for our business'. It takes a very long time to do a focus group, and businesses often don't have the luxury of time. I think they liked the instant responses,” stated Randi Zuckerberg, Mark’s sister and Facebook’s global markets director, regarding the possible monetization of the social networking site.
Some experts say that this move comes in the wake of a double whammy of economic troubles brought on by their failing advertising revenue and the ever-growing cost of electronic data storage.

It was bad enough when they were placing ad's in our profiles, but now this? Sorry Facebook, but you've become as bad, if not worse than MySpace. Looks like I'm ending my profile!

I'm going to maintain my facebook but I'm going to do everything opposite of what actually is going on. I'm going to be lying through my nose.
If I'm at home I'll be posting that I'm visiting NYCity. If I only looked at a computer at a store I'm going to report that I purchased a new PC. Since I'm piss poor I'm going to report that I'm as rich as Trump. I'm going to do everything I can to mess up their market research.

Sorry guys.
Knowing this I am now going to remove myself from that site. Joined only because some relatives of mine are there and wanted me to get in.
Well, Facebook is losing me.

You didn't honestly believe that any online-friends website, such as MySpace, Facebook, and others wouldn't have the soul purpose but to track what their users do, did you? It would be insane for any company to turn away a 150 million active users from targeted advertisement. They're a business, not a charity organization out to let people talk to one another, no.
