Facebook Introduces One-Time Passwords
Facebook has been focusing on beefing up security lately. Last month, it began rolling out a new feature that lets users view all active sessions on their FB account, even allowing them to log out remotely. It is now launching one-time passwords as part of the ongoing security drive. Temporary passwords are a welcome addition and will surely provide an added sense of security to those used to accessing Facebook from public computers.
“Simply text "otp" to 32665 on your mobile phone, and you'll immediately receive a password that can be used only once and expires in 20 minutes. In order to access this feature, you'll need a mobile phone number in your account. We're rolling this out gradually, and it should be available to everyone in the coming weeks,” the company said on its blog.

I would much rather see this done using an app like blizzards mobile authenticator. Having to send a text message and wait for a reply every time you want to log in is just a pain in the butt. Alternatively, a key fob type security token like Square and Blizzard both offer would work, but I have enough things on my keychain the way it is.
