I am presently using a pair of EVGA GTX 580's and even running in three monitor surround (1920 X 1200) they handle everything I ask of them easily. Even in gaming, with so many of the good new games being just console ports (like Skyrim) they really do not stress my system at all.

Personally, with the power of even the stock 680... I would be fine with any of the reference boards for a little cheaper, then OC myself. Stock is the issue though. I'll just save up and get one around July/August when price has hopefully dropped. Like mentioned before, with so many console ports, upgrading is nice, but not mandatory anymore. My GTX460 handles everything I need it to (including BF3) so it would be a vanity upgrade only.

AMD just cut prices by $50 for alot of cards and offering 3 free games since the 680s are getting more common now. maybe it will steal some of the steam from nvidia

This is the first time in a long time that I am having a problem justifying an upgrade to myself. I am presently using a pair of EVGA GTX 580's and even running in three monitor surround (1920 X 1200) they handle everything I ask of them easily. Even in gaming, with so many of the good new games being just console ports (like Skyrim) they really do not stress my system at all.

Same setup here: 1920 x 1200 times three (Nvidia Surround). I have three water cooled GTX 480s running this setup and I still do not see a need to upgrade.

Hey, thanks a lot, consoles, for making the lowest common denominator so low. Catch up already, will you?

Did you get Metro 2033? There is a sequel coming out as well.

Pffft, Metro 2033. It's not hard to run a game that's dark 90% of the time.

I'd take the removal of one DVI or HDMI for an extra display port. A simple DVI/HDMI adapter would allow for a second.

Why is it so hard to get a GTX 680?
With all these shortages and the board partners are still releasing new variants, what's the point if you can't get one anyway?

Sigh, so many models to choose from, so little stock to BUY from. I wonder when supply will equal demand?
