Pockets still belching out quarters after a colossal Christmas cash feast? Looking to really score some bang for your newly acquired buck? Well, right after buying MPC subscriptions for a few friends, family members or neighbors (MPC makes for an amazing house-warming gift!), why not take a quick peek at Steam’s wall-to-wall sales extravaganza?

Should words like “extravaganza” not be enough to persuade you, here are a few more that might do the trick: BioShock for $4.99, Team Fortress 2 for $9.99, Company of Heroes for $14.99 and Left 4 Dead for $37.49.

The sales’s price tag-pulverizing kryptonite applies to all games currently available on Steam, but only until January 2nd. So get your credit card started on its New Year’s workout regimen early; the clock’s ticking.

So then, readers, what’re ya buyin’?

I just wish that they'd come up with some way to allow my wife and I to share games on different computers.  They tie the games to your Steam account, and you can only log in to the account on one machine at a time, so I can't get on and play L4D while she plays Peggle if I own both on the same account.

So, I end up trying to divide games up across two accounts, harder core stuff on one, and more casual games on the other.  But the problem persists since it still prevents us from both playing different games from the same account.  That's just wrong.  This kind of headache is why downloading cracked games is still so common.

avatarWait, wait, wait...

So, your complaint is that Valve won't let as-many-people-as-you-want log into your steam account simultaneously?

You're angry that they have a policy suggesting that if two people want to play a video game, they should both pay for it?

I can see why you're angry.  If they didn't have this stupid policy, then one guy could have bought HL2, and then he could have posted his username and password on the internet and we could all be playing that one copy.  It would have saved us all tons of money.  Valve are such jerks.

...christ, it's like some people go *looking* for things to complain about.

He wants to play a different game on different computers on the same Steam account at the same time. Not a crazy request.

avatarNow I hate Verizon even more!

Well, my Internet went down five days ago (no dial tone on the DSL line). It has been bad service just because of my area and the electrical interference. Of course this is just my luck, as Steam puts on a sale in which BioShock is a title I have wanted to play ever since I decided to try the demo out a few weeks ago. But I just couldn't justify it since I got a few games already. Twenty bucks fills my tank and then some.

So at alas I figured I'd wait till it came down in price a bit more. And here I sit, on another PC with Internet and I find that Steam has the sale on. Verizon..how I wish you offered Fios in my area! Provided I get it back up and running, BioShock will be my purchase.

avatarBuy now, play later

Since you are on another PC with a working internet connection you can buy the game now. Go to the steam website mentioned in the article and purchase through the steam website. You don't need to run the steam program or download the game in order to purchase. Once your internet connection is working again load up steam and the game will be in your list ready to download.

avatarThose are the kind of deals I wait for.

Those are the kind of deals I wait for. Last time I got DoD:S for $4.99 on the free weekend. Now I got TF2 for $9.99. At those prices you just can't say no.

Thanks for the heads up Nathan!

avatarSteam never dissapoints

Even without these massive discounts, Steam is a great place to buy. Even though I prefer physical copies, their service is very trustworthy to me.

Only if I wasn't saving for a Core i7 rig, then I would be jumping into the fun.

avatarSteam Discounts

I already have many of these, so I stuck with the .99 specials (Ulimate Doom, Doom 2 w/Master Levels, Reaxxion and Heavy Weapon Deluxe). Not bad for a total of 3.96...
