EA Reportedly Handing Out Refunds for Tiger 12 PC Game

Consoles are rad and all, but c'mon, the PC is where it's at. PCs bring several advantages to the table, such as larger and faster storage devices, better graphics, and superior controls for certain genres, to name just a few. That said, sports titles seem destined for consoles, but that isn't a free pass for publishers to push lazy ports over to the PC, as EA is finding out.

PC gamers are kicking up a storm over the PC version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters. A post on Reddit claims EA "blatantly lied to its entire consumer base by promising multiple features that were not included in the game itself." The main complaint is the only multiplayer available on the PC port is through a premium service called Tiger Woods Online "and the single player is nearly non-existent."

Gamers are also holding EA's feet to the fire for sub par graphics on the PC compared to the console version, even with all the eye candy cranked up.

"A console port to the PC was all that was expected. Instead, EA decided to strip out more than half of the key features and only managed to add a cash shop," I_Have_A_Van complains on Reddit.

There might be some recourse. According to Eurogamer.net, EA forum members who haven't been muzzled report success in receiving a refund by chatting with EA support using the livechat feature.

"Verified. I contacted the support 'live chat' via the link above. They were very helpful and immediately offered a refund for the purchase. Other than having to wait 3-5 business days for the refund, I'm very happy that they made it right' but wished that had just released a port of the console version in the first place," EA forum member "bradess" posted.
