Knowing EA, I suspect it's the latest investment in streamlining the DLC system so they can nickle and dime you even more.

I frickin' hate this game distributor.

Want to know why EA is interested in this?

To quote the article:
"For one, developing games for consoles is like having a license to print money."

.... and so seeing as how EA is a money grubbing, nickel and diming, anti-customer service, penny pinching, bug ridden released software, game developer dissecting, dirty, rotten, most hated company in America...

Any possible chance for them to see more $$ in their window, they are going to invest in it.

Me personally? I'm avoiding everything EA like the plague. I even didn't buy/play ME3 (as much as I would like to) just because it was published by EA and requires Origin.

Screw You EA!

EA can suck a loud shart from the depths of me bum.

Awesome! A new console or more next-gen games from EA - winner of Worst Company in America 2012! I sure wish EA would just do something to get sued into oblivion soon.

Did anyone else see the first version of this article that said EA was developing its own console? I saw it and it was removed seconds later.

Upon further reading of EA's comments, along with those made to The Verge, it appears EA was talking about building games for next generation consoles, which fits better within the context. That's why the original write-up was quickly pulled and edited.

Yeah I saw it as well, this EA news is very confusing. Half the sites are saying they are making a console and the other half are saying gen 4 games, which one is true.

I saw that one too and the first thing I thought was "EA making a game console, how could anything go wrong". /sarcasm

I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to do something like this. They're already making a lot of their newest PC games only available on their Origin service. Making their own console that can only play EA games doesn't seem that unreal, as stupid as it is.
