Dreaming of a Simpler, More Cylindrical Time? D-Roll's Got You Covered

Your laptop is pretty cool by today’s standards, but designer Hao Hua has something entirely different in mind for the future. That machine of the present that features an archaic hinge has served humanity well, but he plans to fit all that inside a fancy tube, making an already easy to carry machine, even easier.
The D-Roll (short for “digital roll”) concept allows anyone carrying one of these portable babies around with them to sling it under their arm, much like a purse. And, when you need some quick computing power, your screen will come out on one side and the keyboard will slide out the other.
While this is only a concept for what the portable computer of the future may look like (for some reason, the idea of carrying a murse just doesn’t sit right with me), it is an interesting look. Who knows, it might not be far off!

Looks cute and all, but by the time that thing becomes available as anything more than a prototype, my smartphone will have a beefier processor, better graphics, and more storage. It'll also be cheaper and won't require me to carry a tube purse thing that has to be setup on a desk.
Hey I described one of these

Hey I described one of these as a computer I wanted. I forget what article I was posting on but I was upset that you couldn't just roll out your display and roll out your keyboard. Weather my ideas are just logical and people were already designing these things or they were inspired by my post.
Cool thought huh? I think this is like the second or third device that has popped up like that.
i want to make one of these,

As much as I'd love to

As much as I'd love to compute with my thermos than with a standard rectangular laptop, I'd have to toss this one into the 'looks pretty but that's about it' end of the techno pool. I dunno, maybe Q can turn it into some kind of computer/rocket launcher in the next Bond film.
If this were made

I would totally get it. Looks awesome. It could also be like one of those poster/portfolio tubes that you sling on yer back.

That Gordon would be able to asess the feasibility of such a product, being your resident futurist and all.
Touchscreen

If this thing had a touchscreen, it would be amazing. I suppose if it gets made it'll be Atom powered.
one problem

It wouldn't be a laptop then, because of the keyboard, you would need a desk...
And... first
EDIT: Or second...
what exactly prevents this

what exactly prevents this from fitting on your lap?
Seems like it would roll out

Seems like it would roll out and fall.
Also the keyboard looks like flexible plastic.

Now I know what kind of prosthesis (augmentation?) I would get If I ever lose an arm.
