Prices are likely to drop further for two reasons:

- Reduced demand due to the hard drive shortage

- The widespread availability of 8GB modules which will lead to a fall in the price of smaller capacity modules.

So just because one DRAM manufacturer decides to cut back production doesn't mean that prices will stabilize.

I saw an add at frys that was for 2x4GB modules for 35 bucks. so yeah... now I have 24GB of ram in my system.

What on earth am I supposed to do with 24GB of ram?

You could run every program in a separate virtual machine. Say browser in one VM, email client in another and rss news reader in a third. Just for kicks obviously. Why did you but so much RAM if you didn't need it?
