Dopey Woman Seeks Hitman on Facebook
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, especially when that woman is a pissed off mother with a Facebook account looking to hire a hitman to kill her baby's daddy. Fortunately for the father, the mother in this alleged scenario didn't have enough sense to even create a fake account, and instead posted her illegal request as a status update.
"I will pay somebody to kill my baby father," 20-year-old Eley London of Philadelphia allegedly posted on her Facebook account, according to MSNBC.com.
London's post attracted a willing participant, 18-year-old Tim Bynum, who replied to the message agreeing to carry out the hit. His only condition was that he be paid the $1,000 fee upfront. After police caught wind of what was going on, London was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder and is being held on $250,000 bail. Bynum was also arrested, and charged with attempted murder and a weapons charge. He is being held on $350,000 bail.
Lieutenant John Walker summed up the incident in less 10 words saying, "It's shocking that people are just so stupid."

Something like this happened in the city I live in, only the woman used craigslist and she wanted someone to kill her husband. Unsurprisingly, an undercover cop responded to the ad and she was promptly busted.
It's like these people think the police have never heard of the internet or something. At least it makes for a fast trial, you pretty much already have a signed confession.

Wow, FaceBook has really gone that popular... Another reason to avoid even using that service... Stupidity seems a little too common on that social network.

If one is so emotional why not do it yourself? You start by boiling the rabbits...

I would have taken the contract but $1000 is far below street price. $15,000 is mine, but I'll do the job clean. Act now and I'll throw in a two-4-one deal provided they're both in the same city.
$1000 for murder. Seems the economy has affected the value of human life, too.

The guy was arrested for doing just exactly what you did. All he did was post and now he's in jail on a $350K bond. I wouldn't joke about being a murderer for hire.

I hope there was more evidence to this than just something someone said on the internet.
