Details Tip Up on Intel's Upcoming Core i7 and Core i5 ULV Mobile Processors
Intel is kicking off the summer with a trio of ultra low voltage (ULV) Core i5 and Core i7 processors designed to beat the heat by sipping just 17W. These include the Core i7 2677M, Core i7 2637M, and Core i5 2557M, all three of which are dual-core processors slated to ship by the end of June.
Occupying the top is the Core i7 2677M, a dual-core part with four threads. This one will come clocked at 1.8GHz (2.9GHz Turbo) and feature 4MB of cache. According to news and rumor site Fudzilla, Intel originally intended to launch this chip in Q3, but decided to bump up the release by a month. This one will sell for $317.
Sitting one rung below is the Core i7 2637M, another dual-core part with four threads. It will have a clockspeed of 1.7GHz (2.8GHz Turbo), 4MB of cache, and a graphics clock of 350MHz. This one will sell for $289.
Finally there's the lone Core i5 part, the 2557M. Also a two-core chip with four threads, the 2557M is clocked at 1.7GHz just like its bigger i7 2637M brother, but hits 2.7GHz with Turbo and tops out with 3MB of cache. This one will ship for $250.
Prices for all three represent thousand-unit trays. Street pricing is likely to be a little bit higher.

This is really sad. I was excited about Fusion for all of a few months hoping that AMD would make some headway into the small and light notebook arena, but Fusion is no match for Sandy Bridge.
The E-450 hasn't got a prayer. These new ULV will kill E-450 in terms of processing power & graphics all while doing it at a lower max TDP.
