Dell Taking Orders for the Mini 12 Netbook

At long last, the Dell Mini 12 is available to order for those of us that inhabit North America.
While Dell won’t be shipping out the $549 netbook until December, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get your order in now if you want to be among the first to get one. Packing a 1.33GHz Atom processor, 1GB of memory and a 40GB hard drive, the Mini is looking to be a solid productivity machine, all factors taken into consideration.
The Mini 12 can upgrade to a 1.6GHz Atom processor and an 80GB hard drive, but you’ll end up spending a notably steep $758 for it.

Why buy this computer when for a few extra dollars you can get an Hp with a Touch screen (tx2500)
I am a big fan of Dell, but lately, they haven't been keep up with the competition, so I am seriously considering switchin to HP..

This ASUS has the 1.6 GHz Atom 160GB HDD and 1gig of ram. Its 329$ rite now on new egg. Any other 12' packs a C2D for what they are charging for this thing with an Atom.
/Sit back and continue to watch Dells market share crash.

It is only 100 bucks more than a comparable Asus Netbook of the same size...and its a Dell, which means something to corporate type people. I've been asked by people about my Eee and support is always an issue...Dell has lots of US support...not so sure about Asus...

Hmmm, 100 bucks to buy some peace of mind. Be interesting to see how this one plays out. Does anyone actually have a netbook?
