Some of my friends really wanted this console. Even many people who recommend the Alienware X51 Gaming Desktop HD for gaming. Please read http://www.computer-desktops.com/2013/09/alienware-x51-hd-gaming.html

My only problem is that Dell's notorious for offering Linux on their machines and then in the blink of an eye it goes away. They offered Ubuntu on some of their workstations and laptops for a while and then 'poof' it was taken away and now it's back, this time on Alienware's line. I'm hoping this isn't another bait and switch where they lure people in with the promise of offering wider options (other than Windows) only to pull the rug out from under us in a few months with "we're sorry Ubuntu is nolonger being offered or supported on our products" crapola..

I am sure I am not the only one to look forward to the R2 version of the Alienware x51. I am predicting 670 type graphics with better cooling. It would be so easy for Dell to drop the new 670 short card from Asus in there but well Alienware does not always do what is easy or better, took them 10 months to figure out to offer an ssd or the better 660 card. Drop the short asus card in there and offer a 500 gb ssd and pretty much perfect

Hey.That_Dude

Why are we thanking Google and Android?
I thought they were using Canonical's Ubuntu.

$600? Not a bad price. I wonder how well that 645 holds up though.

Great news. Linux is moving, let's just keep that momentum up and not drop the ball.

Oh, nice! Variety is always good. Too bad Dell can't bother to use a non-H61 motherboard and throw in an SSD.

Thats why they get our business & patronage.

Glad the Ubuntu version is $100 less than the most basic Windows-based model.

As more games are ported this will only get better with time.

Digital Agency ...

Well this seems to be a promising feature added to this excellent machine. Dell is evolving and so is Alienware!
