Corsair Creates a Winter Wonderland with LN2, Breaks Memory Overclocking Record
Corsair can add another memory overclocking record to its belt, this latest one set using the company's Dominator GT CMGTX6 extreme-performance DDR3 RAM. Using a liberal amount of liquid nitrogen, Corsair employee and avid overclocker Jake "Planet" Crimmins cranked the frequency all the up to a mind numbing 1733.8MHz, which is equivalent to DDR3-3467.
Crimmins wasn't the least bit bashful about his feat.
"Breaking overclocking world records requires skill, ingenuity, and the right equipment," said Crimmins. "I've broken several records using Dominator GT memory. It's reliable, it has amazing headroom, and it's never let me down."
Nice plug, albeit he earned the right to pimp the company he works for after recording an insane overclock. Also insane is the custom LN2 cooling system and the winter wonderland it created.
