Corsair Confirms Speed Control Issue Affecting "Small Number" of Hydro Series H100 LCS Units
A number of people have been complaining about a fan control issue affecting their Corsair Hydro Series H100 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler. After tearing into some units, Corsair was able to root out the problem and confirm an issue exists with a "small number of H100 units with lot code 11359403." The lot code is printed on the box, and if yours matches up, Corsair recommends running a simple test.
"If you have this lot code, test your installed unit while the system is running by pressing the profile change button," Corsair says. "If you push the profile button on the top of the cooling unit and the indicator lights change, but the fan noise remains the same, we recommend contacting Corsair technical support at ramguy at corsair dot com to arrange for some replacement parts that will correct this problem."
If the lights don't change, Corsair says resetting the firmware will solve the issue in most cases. Alternately, you can contact Corsair customer service and arrange an advance replacement if you'd rather not press your luck with a unit from a problematic batch.

I hate to say this, because I like Corsair products, but they disapointed me with the H100. They're sending me new fans.

How many of you still have the box your Corsair cooler came in, after you installed it? They should put the lot numbers on the units themselves, not just on the packaging.

I destroy all evidence of my purchase immediately. Including receipts, manuals, packaging and internet activity. Lest my wife finds it...

Same here. Especially if the device has a multi-year warranty, or you get an extended warranty from the store you got the component from.
Not to mention it keeps all the product information, etc neatly in one place.

There was a guy on overclock.net that had a h60 or 80 leak and damage a few components. After speaking with coursair he ended up with a bunch of replacment parts and some corsair goodies.
Point is regardless of the issue, corsair always takes care of it's customers, and thats cool.

Good to know. I have an H70. It works beautifully, but its good to know that if it were to fail, Corsair would take care of me! :D
