I've been around PC gaming for a while and have been to a few LAN parties, but I don't see any thing that makes this an ideal LAN party case. I guess the smaller size is the only bit?

I don't recall seeing (and Google isn't showing me) any LAN party case roundups. I'd like to replace my aging Antec Sonata but things like doors and top-mounted ports seem to do more harm than good for a LAN lifestyle.

Well, IME, most people who still do physical lan-parties instead of net-play tend to tote gaming laptops these days, MSI, Alienware, ASUS, FalconNW, etc

but you're right, no handle, no heavy duty latching or anti-vibration, not MUCH of a tote-along.

I guess they are right when they say that once you've had black you wont go back to beige. Sadly doors aren't as awesome as they seemed to be when they first started showing up on computer cases.

Off the subject, why don't video cards come with external power bricks to make up the difference that the card needs outside the PCI Express specs.

Eoraptor

they do, what do you think the power plugs on top of the card are for?

Also, an external power plug is another route for power surges to get into the sustem (among other, more complicated [power distrobution issues too complicated to get into here)

I'm glad someone else said it too... Why do all PC parts have to be black, blue, blue & black, or black & blue? Thank goodness for the NZXT Phantom and the Fractal cases! At least there's a choice that's not BLACK! What's wrong with a little color? I for one would kinda like to see the Phantom in a burnt orange color similar to the Apollo... I'm just sayin' ENOUGH with the everything's black & blue already!! XD

Looks good.  Gotta love 200mm fans.

If you like this, checkout the HAF 912 Advanced.  It's now available in the US through CM's online store.

The HAF 912 looks pretty sweet, I still do like my HAF 922, yet that mid looks nice. Thanks for that heads up, plaskon.  :-)

I hate to say this... but...

Yet Another Black Case? Black cases, at least IMhO, are turning into the old beige box comodity cases we had in the ninties. Would another "red edition" or a white case or any other color under the rainbow be so much to ask?

And I hat edoors. seems like they spend more time getting in the way than they do making the case look pretty.

That all said, it at least looks and sounds like CM put a decent amount of thought into the functionality of the case, huge fan support, rubber gromets, filters, and a pump housing, etc.

Black's okay. Doors are annoying, endlessly so

Oh, man! I disagree with the colour thang! I find that alternative colours to white or black end up looking cheap and novelty-ey. My opinion, of course.

This theory of mine does not, ironically, apply to laptops.

OOo, pretty and feature rich.

PS - I like black cases Eoraptor (if done right) and LOL thank god they got rid of those beige standard from the old days, that color and horrible texture was a dirt/dust magnet!

CaptainFabulous

Yup, I'm with you. Hate doors.

I agree with you on all points, especially on the whole black is the new beige. Case companies really need to start mixing things up.

I wouldn't buy a case that isn't black...
