Comcast Vows to Cut Wait Time for Service Calls, Arizona Beachfront Property Next on the Agenda
Nobody at Comcast was tarred and feathered after the ISP was voted worst company in America last year by readers of Consumerist.com. They didn't have to be; turns out the shame of finishing behind every other company in the country is motivation enough to try and improve things, and the way Comcast plans to do that is by shortening its cable repair and installation windows in all markets from as much as four hours to no more than two hours in 2012, Bloomberg reports.
Comcast is the largest cable provider in the U.S., yet was dead last in consumer opinion when Consumerist.com asked readers to rate 32 companies. Common complaints consisted of long wait times, service calls that weren't able to get the job done and thus requiring multiple appointments, and poor customer service.
"People get really mad when they take time off work and a cable guy is really late or doesn't show up," said Ben Popken, managing editor of Consumerist.com. "Comcast is the biggest cable provider, and the bigger you are, the more complaints you're going to get."
Comcast is taking its goal seriously and has already begun testing the 2-hour maximum window in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Salt Lake City, Utah.

in my area the speed of their service is unbeatable, and their level of uptime is unmeasurable, mainly because as soon as you start to count, something invariably goes down.

I had home internet through Comcast for exactly 6 days.....then crazy roomates stole our boxes and called and cancelled the service(wasn't in my name). I don't want anything tied to my name here. But the instalation guy WAS very rude....and I don't blame him one bit. My stupid roomates kept making racist jokes and kept offering him watermellow and chicken(he was black, my roomie are stupid white chicks).
