The problem fixed itself. A simple BIOS/CMOS issue with Leap Year programmed wrong. At midnight GMT, the problem was no more! :)
Mac and PC have their strengths and weaknesses, I love them both. So sue me! :D

@Cruzg: obvious troll is obvious.
I do regret getting my PS3 though. Not because of this, I could care less if its a day or so. But I do find myself using the PC alot more than the PS3. I could have saved myself 800$ (PS3, extra warranty, controller, 2 games) and by now I could have gotten a killer rig :(.

Why, so we can get the lovely RRoD? At least this problem will be solved in a matter of days, as opposed to the weeks it took for microsoft to fix my fucking xbox. Bought the elite, it's a peice of trash. Much rather play the ps3.

To this day I've had both systems since they came out and I've seen far more problems with my 360 than I have with the PS3.

I've had all of the aforementioned problems AND some more. I noticed when I booted up my PS3 last night that my theme wasn't working. When I checked on the theme settings in the system settings menu, I saw that about a dozen of my themes displayed "Corrupted Data" errors.

My system clock reset to 12/31/1999. After a manual date entry to the proper date and time I still couldn't sign in. As long as Sony gets it fixed before my FF13 preorder comes in I won't make mention of it.

This happened to me last night. I was mad that it wouldn't let me play MW2.
Yeah I noticed the clock and fixed it, but I had to do it manually, because it raised the same error while trying to set via internet time. Still got the same error after I set the time.

My son is gonna be SO pissed off. I have to enable his PS3 in my router to go online, so it hasn't been. But it's not turned on right now either. But if his account has been borked because of this, he will be so upset. Just like I would be if my online Modern Warfare 2 account was screwed up by Steam.

"I would be if my online Modern Warfare 2 account was screwed up by Steam."
That actually happened to my Steam account this week. i had found i lost everything related to that game when i went to play SP - Spec Op stats, SP achievments, i had to start over again. guess it is good i do not do the MP aspect of it, but i felt that pain, indeed.

Good thing I'm in the process of moving. My PS3 hasn't been turned on in the past 3-weeks! And I have a launch console, with the "emotion chip" and everything. One of the good ones!!

- Hey, I found a temporary fix. It's a hack to change PS3's
system clock. I'm not sure if it's safe so don't come crying back to me
if it breaks your PS3. Here the link that shows you how: LINK REMOVED- *****Enjoy your permanent ban.
