"At least with the iPad you know Apple has you covered, and Windows 8 should theoretically offer the same piece of mind." Seriously? One doesn't exist and the other is for pricks. Fuck crApple.

Ideally, any company should release detailed hardware specs when their products reach end of support, so that any ingenious third party might cobble together patches and bugfixes and updates moving forward. Unfortunately, so many companys have no moral compass or sense of right and wrong. Cisco is no different.

We have two types of PC's, the standard government issue Dell E6400 andthe most useless POS ever known to man.....simply known as a miltope. Its huge, bulky, slow, still runs XP, has 1/2 the amount of RAM as my 2010 Droid X and can run on battery power for almost 9 complete minutes on a full charge of two 3.5" HDD size batteries. I can reboot my Xoom and have MaximumPC.com loaded before Internet Explorer loads on that POS. If I could use FEDLOG and link to our vehicles like the miltope can with a tablet, we would have no use whatsoever for PC's.

Tablets can have a place in the line of work, its all in the execution.

It's not necessarily dead... hell, I can put Android 4.0 on my droid 2... someone out there is probably working on a new rom for it or will be.

I doubt it. One of the reasons it's still running Eclair is because it uses an Intel Atom CPU. Not sure how many other Android tablets are running that.

Intel/Google just released x86 ICS build on Android SDK.
