I love Chrome but the new version crashes so much. Especially with flash. :^/ Not cool. It would literally lock-up and take ten seconds or more to actually crash and then it took out my modem with it. My modem takes about two minutes to reboot! Chrome got to the point where I had to reboot my modem just about every thirty seconds. Firefox 12 just seemed way too bullish and sluggish for me. I finally went to Opera.

Are people who use IE because they don't know alternatives exist versus savvy Chrome users really a comparison or even a competition? Right only for people in marketing who care about silly stats like this.

IE still isn't all that great, in terms of addons and standards. I switched from FF a year or so ago because it kept freezing occasionally and such, and Chrome doesn't. (Plus, Chrome doesn't seem to slow down with addons, Firefox does.)

I am back to IE with FF my second choice. Chrome is fast but I question its security and when using it I started to get more directed ads and junk mail so it is gone.

Chrome dev + Adblock plus. Firefox is porky and slow add-ons or no. Chrome is slick and gets the job done. And No-Script? Pffft, use common sense.

I don't surf without NoScript, and Chrome doesn't support it. FF.

I used to be all about Firefox and I disliked Chrome, however since we have to use Chrome at work I've gotten used to it. I've started using it at home and it's noticeably faster than Firefox.

One thing that really bothers me is how Chromes web store has no categories or filters for themes. Either you search for a specific thing or you have to browse through the entire collection. I would also liked to be able to save a collection of themes instead of having to reload it from their store every time. I'm also missing my menus. The favorites bar is kind of nice though.

Firefox, not sure why, but I just don't like how chrome does things, and I still have print problems with it. As for IE, meh, just don't care about it.

If I'm actually on a PC(a rare thing for me nowadays) then it's WaterFox all the way. But I use DolphinHD more than any other browser.

IE 9 has come a tremendous way from previous iterations of IE. Before IE 9, I used to be in the same boat with my motto being "IE is the best browser.......for downloading other browsers." But since IE 9, I have become a huge fan of the browser. I have used Opera, Mozilla, Chrome, and IE. I used to be a Mozilla fan, but now with their rapid release schedule and the browser's tendency to freeze up on me every day I don't ever use it. I have had other problems with Chrome and Opera; I have just seen little quirks and annoyances that are not present in IE 9.

I prefer Waterfox, and if I can't, Firefox.

Same here.

So far I've seen compatibility issues with some of our customers who have IE9, and some customers can't print (my guess it's more to do with the website than the actual browser).

lol, that got my attention just as much as the article header. :-)

not on my sites (e-commerce clothing stores). IE is still sitting comfortably at 60%, then FF at 15, Chrome at 12 and Safari at 8

Firefox. Internet Explorer isn't on Linux; and Chrome performs rather poorly with add-ons and extensions.

When I don't run/need all the add-ons I use Opera.

IE better not get it, it sure as HELL doesn't deserve it, much less any other spot. If anything it should be at the BOTTOM of the list. Hell, we all know IE sucks, why can't the dumb company rating it see that?

avatar

torusya

they are not rating it, they are counting how many people are useing it...

Lots of sheep out there.

Chrome. Switched from Firefox last fall when an Nvidia driver release was causing Win 7 TDRs when using Firefox. Didn't seem to be any reason to switch back to FF after Nvidia got the drivers sorted out.
