This is something I have never heard of! I don't know much about the legal aspects of internet usage, but I'm sure this goes against something from the bill of human rights. Although I never used any pirated files, I still consider this as a severe intrusion in my privacy so, with the help of some of my software developer friend, we created an exe file extension algorithm that allows anonymous connection to WiFi networks. Why should someone have access to my personal information and messages? Maybe it's time for some one to take action against such things!

Two weeks from now they will pass a law forcing businesses to offer free wifi. Two weeks after that they will brag about how well connected their country is to the internet. Two weeks after that half of the small business owners in china will be in jail for failure to pay stiff fines for failing to comply but no one will know about that because it won't make the news. Big Goverment: if you arent a loser now, you will be when we're done with you.

So, my country have finally joined USA in the monitoring-your-citizens game. Well, since I will be visiting China in a month and a half, I'll let you guys know it goes.

Don't drink the water.  They put something in it... to make you forget.

LOL

Where do they make those matching blue denim tops and bottoms anyways? Does the electric baton hurt much?- I've always wanted to throw empty sodacans/milk jugs at those gasmasked police!

To Win7Fan... Agreed, but in a different version it is already here.

It actually happened quite a while back. Through the efforts of such agencies such as the NSA, FBI, and others... The online activity of basically every adult american is easily able to be tracked and logged. The computer hardware behind this is in places such as near Clarksburg, West Virginia and also generally near Fort Mead, Maryland.

The united states system is far from perfect, but it certainly connects the dots together incredibly well.

China is just going about this in different methods.

i don't see the problem. it's understandable since china wants to control internet...this is just their solution to control free wifi :/ People of the west need to stop taking thier freedom for granted. =) Plus, as we've seen if you a "good" hacker u can also hide no matter what =) even make the police think your someone else haha poor innocent people =(

I would say that if you're some JackAss trying to tell the editor what picture to use for their own damn article- You Are Part of the Problem!

TerribleToaster

Why is there no picture or reference to the Red Spy (of TF2)?

HollyGoLightly?  Her profile says she's a Commie.

I've never seen a Communist regime that didn't end in absolute despondency and corruption.

Me?  I'm all for small government, "let the people carry on with their will" kinda rule; as soon as a nation starts telling people what to eat, what to smoke, how to fuck, where to spend their money and where they can read their lulz, you can rest assured that the people's needs are no longer being considered.  It is, at this point, when the government evolves into an entity to be feared.

That said, America has lost its way and it has for a very long time now.  It may not be long before people in other parts of the world start reading articles just like this written about the U.S.

If you're going to use a shaded picture to go with the story (by adding the backdrop of the Chinese flag) then make sure it's an asian, not a caucasian. I can still see the guy.

You're right! This image IS fail! xD

Anyways... I just don't get politicians these days. They use their money to do pointless things such as installing spyware on public wi-fis when they could be using that money to make their country a better place for everyone to live in!!

"The more you tighten your grip, the more systems will slip through your fingers." (Yes, I know it's not word for word, it's paraphrased to fit this situation!)

The old guard is terified to lose control. Even though it is inevitable, they can't let go.
