Call of Duty: Black Ops, Coming Soon to Xbox, PS3, PC, and... A Jeep?
And here we thought videogame cut-scenes were the most ridiculous thing Activision would ever suggest we'd spend money on. Turns out, that was just a warm-up. The main event of this incredibly avant garde assault on our wallets? A Call of Duty: Black Ops-branded 2011 Jeep Wrangler. That's right: a friggin' truck. And the price of admission for entry into this very, very exclusive sect of the Call of Duty fan club? Oh, nothing too big. Just $33,500. Pocket change, right?
So, what kind of crazy-cool gadgets and Mountain Dew-fueled rocket boosters are you getting with your Call of Dutymobile? Well, uh, there's some Black Ops art on the roof and front quarter panels. And also... oh, wait. That's it. If it's any consolation, though, the car's going to be drivable in Black Ops – hopefully in the game's Cold War sections to promote the 2011 Wrangler's new addition of a flux capacitor.
"It was important for us to make sure that the Jeep partnership would be authentic and enhance the setting we immerse our fans in with Black Ops," said Mark Lamia, studio head at Treyarch. "Our work with the Jeep team focused around using the Jeep Wrangler in our levels, and gameplay experiences, and translating the style and look of the vehicle in Black Ops to the Jeep on the showroom floor that our fans can own."
So, er, yeah. This is happening. We pinched ourselves just to make sure and everything. Granted, we expect to see someone ride by on a unicorn before we actually catch a glimpse of one of these things in the wild, but still.

Ok Ok I made a few typo's so sue me but I'm a Texan so it does matter to me and if you ever watch a group of gearhead Texan's etc. or other outdoors people and if you call a Wrangler a truck you might get a few raised eye brows. But here is a defnaction of a Wrangler- Also know as the YJ, TJ, JK, & J8(mili version), is compact 4*4 sport utility vehicle(SUV) nuff said.

I know this is simantics and all but its a SUV not a TRUCK I know this becasue I have driven every class of vechile from compact to sprots car to suv to a reg cab truck to a extend-cab to a Quad cab 2500hd and they all handle in there own way so they are a differnt class dont think would try to hook up a 29ft 6th wheel to this would you but wait it a truck not even a tounge hitch it would bend the farm and not pull for beans. So just to make sure every one is on the same page its a SUV not a TRUCK thank you and have a nice day.

That being said, a Jeep Wrangler isn't really an SUV. It's kind of it's own class of vehicle. However, when referring to all of the above vehicles in a broad sense, Truck is still seen as appropriate and I do think you're going a bit overboard with your criticism. Also, you need to work on your spelling and grammar a bit (ie frame instead of farm, tongue hitch instead of tounge hitch, etc.)
As far as the $33,500 price tag, I guess I can see it as it's a limited edition and the length had to be extended from the standard Wrangler, but you still wouldn't catch me paying that kind of money for a car from a company where the government had to bail them out TWICE and is now partial owner. I will never trust a company where the regulator also has ownership interests.

I'll go a little further and say I won't trust any company that needed to be bailed out... twice.
So, let me get this straight, they BRANDED this thing a CODMW2 Jeep, and all they did was gloss up the paint job? Why not add a gun rack? Or one of those cage-like bumper things? Or camoflage rims? Or or or or....
Just to be clear, the problem with American car companies is really really simple; it has nothing to do with government involvement, the gov't saved their dumb butts more than once. The problem is A COMPLETE AND UTTER LACK OF CREATIVITY. All their cars look like warped bars of soap... I don't get excited even looking at a CODMW2 Jeep, for crying out loud. I bet Toyota would have made an awesome Land Cruiser....
