British Teachers Afraid WiFi Is Sterilizing Children

Teachers in UK are demanding the removal of WiFi from schools lest it may jeopardize the health and fertility of kids. The Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL) has become alarmed after a few studies claimed WiFi may cause loss of short-term memory, lack of concentration, cancer and sterility.
The issue was brought up by Colin Kinney at ATL’s annual meeting. He referenced a Swedish research and the findings of some other European experts to justify his sense of alarm. “Have we the right to avoid the moral warnings simply for access to a few more computers?” he asked the attendees at ATL’s annual meeting.
He wants a long-time study to probe WiFi’s impact on heath. The teacher’s body has espoused Kinney’s concerns and resolved to prod the government into action.

Nice link Ogre. The best part for those to lazy to click:
Photons of visible light carry more energy than
microwaves and bombard us much more frequently than microwaves from such
things as cell phones or wireless networks.
And that is visible light. Not UV, which are much higher energy (thus the link to melenoma)
As far as I know there

As far as I know there hasn't been any conclusive evidence supporting the assertion that low-power low-freqency electromagntic radiation has any significant effect on biological systems. Considering that we are all drowning in radiation from many more sources than wi-fi and cell phones, I wouldn't be too concerned about those particular cases. I have to wonder if any of the teachers who are supporting this stuff ever go tanning, as long term exposure to UV radiation(high frequency electromagnetic) is harmful, and has quite a bit of evidence to back that up.
Funny though, when I was in high school I set up a high power wi-fi amp and high db antenna for the computer teacher. I sat right next to it.
Here is a really good link on the safety of electromagnetic radiation. http://skepdic.com/emf.html . One thing to look out for is most of the media coverage of "radiation" of any sort is purely looking to drum up controversy, and tends to give creedence to whatever group is causing a fuss instead of the general scientific consensus. An important thing to note is the link above acutally has citations, which few news stories do for any of the studies they are writing about.

I believe this. I CANNOT have my laptop on my lap because I get a really bad pain "down there" and it hurts like a mofo, so I put it on a counter-top or hard object far away from my "jewels" Haha.
This is true but at what distance?

It's an fact that 1 feet away a laptops wifi transmitter is dangerous. The general public is sheep, they only understand what their eyes can see.

You're probably wearing a tin hat and are naked (like that guy in the Dukes of Hazzard movie).
Where is this fact that you've mentioned? Half the world would be sterile if that were the case. As it is now, all I have to do, instead of getting a vasectomy, is to just use my laptop in my lap and the deed is done?
Seriously, the power that wifi devices put out is nothing compared to things such as HAM equipment. When I was in Desert Storm, there was this HUGE radio dish that was supposed to be off-limits and you were not supposed to walk within 20 feet of the front of it. We used to put our meals on it so that they would heat up so that we could have warm meals. Now that's power. Some antennas burn you if you touch them when someone is transmitting. 802.11 cards don't even compare. Hell, with 3 kids, I wish I were sterile right now...that's not the case, though (at least 4 yrs ago, it wasn't, because I've a 3 yr old boy).
