Blogger is Back, Missing Content to be Restored
Google's Blogger is one of the most popular blogging platforms out there. As such, the cries of rage were almost audible on the Internet when the service went down Wednesday. Earlier today, service was finally restored. All told, Blogger was down for nearly 21 hours. Google is offering details on the Blogger blog.
Basically, Google was doing regular maintenance on Wednesday night, when the Blogger data became corrupted for some reason. We suspect someone spilled some Coke on the server, but that's just a guess. The result was inaccessible sites, missing content, and account errors. The service was brought back up on Thursday as read-only, and with some missing content.
Now the Blogger team is saying the missing content will mostly be restored in the coming days. This feels vaguely similar (but less severe) to the Tumblr outage a few weeks ago. Are you a Blogger user? How has your site been affected?

People these days can't live without the internet these days. But blogs and Tumblr? Come on... it's not the end of the world (for those who rage about it).
But if Blogger or Tumblr was to be down forever, then that would be a good reason to rage of it. :3
